Meal offerings at the Chaplin Senior Center

CHAPLIN — After the Labor Day holiday, the Chaplin Senior Center will get right back to work on offering twice-weekly lunches to area residents.

Lunches are served every Monday and Wednesday and can be eaten in the dining room or taken home. The dining room starts serving at noon; meals to go may be picked up at the curb between 11:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Each meal costs $6 for members of the Senior Center, and $8 per non-member. Lunches must be reserved in advance by calling the center at 860-455-1327.

The September 4 menu will be grilled pork chops with gravy, buttered noodles, vegetables, rolls and apple pie.

The September 9 meal includes lasagna, salad, garlic bread and brownies.

September 11’s luncheon is stuffed chicken breast, scalloped potatoes, vegetables, rolls and raspberry cake.

The September 16 offering includes American chop suey, vegetables, corn bread and banana cream pie.

The lunch for September 18 will be baked meat loaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls and apple crisp.

September 23 will see stuffed shells with sauce, cole slaw, garlic bread and chocolate cake.

The September 25 meal is Swedish meat balls, egg noodles, vegetables, rolls and lemon squares.

The last meal on the last day of the month, September 30, will be grilled chicken sandwiches on bulkie rolls, pasta salad, potato chips and carrot cake.

The senior center is located at 132 Chaplin Street.
