Laverne Cox's Emmy nails and the meaningful message behind them
When Laverne Cox shows up anywhere, she really knows how to steal a scene. For this year’s Emmy Awards, she appeared in a stunning silver dress by Naeem Khan, smokey eyeshadow, and long blonde straight hair. But the best part of her entire look? Her nails.
Because not only was the dazzling manicure show-stopping, featuring ORLY from a new limited-edition line, Celebrate Yourself by Laverne Cox, but there was some heavy meaning behind it: Proceeds from sales will be donated to hurricane relief efforts related to both Harvey and Irma.
“I think when much is given, much is required. That’s all,” Cox told Giuliana Rancic of E! Live From the Red Carpet while chatting with her during her entrance. “Everyone can do it. Everyone can give a little bit.”
Cox posed on the red carpet with her hands on her hips, making her her artsy manicure hard to miss. She had also announced the news of her collaboration with ORLY on Instagram, hours before the show.

The Celebrate Yourself collection includes six shimmering shades with fun names, such as Party in the Hills and Million Dollar Views.
The entire set is for sale, along with a free ORLY top-2-bottom basecoat and topcoat, for $49. And after tonight, it could be gone fast.
