Meg Ryan Shares Thoughts on Son Ryan Quaid Following Her Acting Footsteps

Children of famous actors who make their way into the industry get a bad rap as "nepo babies," but Meg Ryan knows her son Jack Quaid became an actor for "all the right reasons."
In a new interview with People, the When Harry Met Sally star divulged how she feels about the 31-year-old—whom she shares with ex-husband Dennis Quaid—having a successful acting career just like his parents.
"He's just in it for all the right reasons. He's somebody who just loves what he does and obviously, he's somebody who knows that he's privileged and he's also somebody who works so hard," she said about her son.
Ryan added, "I am just so proud of how sensible he is, how ethical he is, how fun he is — and I just knew early on he was somebody I would have to share. He's just fantastic."
Jack currently stars in Amazon Prime dark superhero comedy The Boys as protagonist Hughie Campbell. He also voices Brad Boiler in Paramount+ animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. Additionally, Jack recently had a role in one of the biggest films of the year: Oppenheimer, in which he portrayed theoretical physicist Richard Feynman.
In a 2022 interview with Thrillist, Jack admitted that he considered changing his last name to be taken seriously as an actor.
"I knew that people would constantly say, 'Oh, I know how he got that job,'" he said. "And they're still going to say that. It's fine. But as long as I knew how I got there, that would be enough."
