Megan Fox Opens Up About Her Experience With Body Dysmorphia
Megan Fox is getting candid about her struggles with self-love and body image.
As a cover model for the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, it may come as somewhat of a surprise that the Transformers actress has never actually been comfortable in her own skin, though it's something she constantly works toward as an adult.
"I have body dysmorphia—I don't ever see myself the way other people see me," she admitted to the publication while opening up about her journey.
During Fox's photoshoot with the famed brand in the Dominican Republic, the Till Death star said being tapped for the project is "definitely a lot of pressure," but is what she "manifested" after verbally saying out loud that shooting an SI cover is something she wanted the opportunity to do.

"I've never shot Sports Illustrated before. I've been famous for a long time now, and it sort of feels like if it's ever gonna happen, it should happen now," she noted.
The 36-year-old, who says there was "never, ever" a point in her life where she "loved her body," isn't exactly sure where the hyper-fixation on her physical appearance came from, explaining that she grew up in a religious household where "bodies weren't even acknowledged."
"When I was little, that was an obsession I had... that I should look this way," Fox expressed. "Why I had an awareness of my body that young, I'm not sure," she continued, adding that it "definitely wasn't environmental," due to her upbringing.
Still, the Jennifer's Body actress brings light to a condition that can often become very dark, confirming that "the journey of loving myself is going to be never ending, I think."
