New York and Tokyo are colliding. American fashion house Coach is teaming up with legendary Japanese streetwear brand Bape for a collaborative collection that celebrates the authenticity of their respective hometowns. This is not the first time the two powerhouses are coming together—the brands dropped their first joint project in 2020—so continuing the seamless fusion of each other’s established codes is a no-brainer. For its second launch, they're tapping into some serious star power.
Premiering today, July 14, the Coach x Bape campaign features Houston hottie Megan Thee Stallion, showing us the proper way to put our hands on our knees. Lensed by photographer Sandy Kim, it also stars rapper and singer Cordae, who is on the rise to making his way to the top as a recording artist, and Japanese model and songwriter Kōki. Alongside the still images, Coach x Bape will also release an intimate video of the cast in conversation, discussing how they each express their unique personalities.
The collection itself will appeal to both cities' denizens and beyond. It combines the aesthetic of the Japanese streetwear label with Coach’s legacy of craftsmanship. The key takeaway is the new, limited-edition print, blending Coach's signature 'C' pattern with the Bape logo, splashed across hoodies, iconic turnlock bags, Bape's trademark STA sneakers, and more.
If you're ready to get your hands on this exclusive capsule, mark your calendars for July 24. The collection will be available for purchase in stores and online at Coach.com, with prices ranging from $95 to $595 for leather goods and from $150 to $450 for ready-to-wear.
