What Will Meghan Markle's Royal Title Be? Let's Investigate
The preparations for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding are in full swing, but one burning question still remains: What royal title will be bestowed upon Markle when she says “I do”?
Unfortunately, the Suits actress will not become Princess Meghan when she marries Prince Harry in May 2018. Why, you may ask? She’s not royal by blood. (We wish it were that simple.) She will, however, be formally known as Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales, which aligns with Harry’s proper name and current title, Prince Henry of Wales.
But that’s not all. According to royal tradition, the queen will honor Harry with an additional title on his wedding day, which will be similar to the one Prince William received on his big day (the Duke of Cambridge). Although Prince Harry’s hereditary title won’t be revealed until his May 2018 ceremony, many royal aficionados believe he will inherit the now-vacant title of Duke of Sussex.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex has an awfully nice ring to it, don’t you think?
