Reminder: the royal wedding is coming. Meghan Markle's done all the requisite pre-royal wedding things, like attend official appearances with her future sister-in-law, have a v. fancy bridal shower, and be baptized. Yes, Meghan was secretly baptized into the Church of England on Tuesday with just a few members of the royal family in attendance, PEOPLE reports.

The ceremony, which was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, was about 45 minutes long and took place at St. James's Palace in London. According to the Daily Mail, Princes Harry and Charles were in attendance, but William and the Queen were not.

Kate Middleton did the same thing a few weeks ahead of her 2011 wedding. It's an implicit requirement for all those entering the royal family as the Queen heads the Church of England. Meghan, who was raised Episcopalian, was reportedly confirmed immediately following the baptism, so she can now join Harry during Holy Communion.
