This year, Meghan Markle spent her birthday at someone else's party. The Duchess of Sussex attended the wedding of Prince Harry's childhood friend Charlie Van Straubenzee and his bride, Daisy Jenks, last Saturday.

Meghan wore a black dress (though in some lights it looks navy) with a color-blocked green, pink, and purple skirt to the event, an ensemble she paired with a Philip Treacy fascinator, Aquazzura shoes, and sunglasses.

Fortunately for fans of the style, the dress is back in stock at Club Monaco:

Meghan was photographed chatting several guests at the wedding including Princess Diana's niece Celia McCorquodale and her husband George Woodhouse, pictured up top.

Prince Harry reportedly served as the best man in the wedding. Prince William, who is also close with the Van Straubenzee family, and Duchess Kate were also reportedly invited to the celebration, though we haven't seen photos of them yet.

Both Charlie and his brother Thomas were reportedly ushers in Harry and Meghan’s wedding earlier this year, and rumor has it that Charlie roasted Harry in a speech at his reception. We can only imagine Harry hoped to return the favor at this celebration.

This wedding was likely the only time we'll see Harry and Meghan this month. The royals typically take time off in August, and return to a regular schedule of engagements in September.

A recent Vanity Fair article by Katie Nicholl also claims that the royal couple is pulling back a bit from public life due to the increased press scrutiny. “He worries there is too much hysteria around Meghan and he wants to row back a bit,” a source told Nicholl.
