Meghan Markle Chose a Chic Black Ensemble for Remembrance Sunday Services
The Duchess of Sussex just arrived at this morning's Remembrance Day service in an all black look befitting the somber occasion. She wore a belted coat over what appears to be a lace top, an outfit which she paired with a bold, wide-brimmed hat and a red poppy pin, symbolizing support for both veterans and those who have lost their lives in battle.
Meghan watched today's ceremony, in which Prince Charles laid a wreath on behalf of the Queen, from the balcony of the nearby Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She stood alongside Prince Edward's wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and Princess Anne's husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
Most every other working royal was also in attendance, including Meghan's husband Prince Harry, who also laid a wreath, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the Duchess of Cornwall, who had been feeling under the weather earlier this week.
While Meghan and Harry have both made several public appearances this week (royal watchers saw them visit Westminster Abbey on Wednesday and attend the annual Festival of Remembrance last night), this weekend could be one of the last times the public sees the royal couple before Christmas.
According to the Sunday Times, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be taking several weeks off from their royal duties starting later this month, and plan spend their first Thanksgiving as a family of three with Meghan's mother Doria in L.A.
A royal source told reporter Roya Nikkah, "The duke and duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time."
All that said, Buckingham Palace has yet to publicly confirm the news of a break, and Prince Harry has at least one more scheduled appearance before the end of the month. He'll attend the inaugural OnSide Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, November 17.
