Meghan Markle Did Not Call In to Yesterday's Royal Summit in Sandringham
Yesterday, Prince Harry met with the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William in Sandringham to "talk things through" regarding his and Meghan's plans to step back from their roles in the royal family. As Meghan has already returned to Canada, it was thought that she would call in to the royal "summit" and be part of the conversation by phone.
Now, it has been revealed that she did not participate in the discussion.
“The Sussexes decided that it wasn’t necessary for The Duchess to join yesterday’s meeting at Sandringham,” a source said.
Even without Meghan's input, the summit seems to have been productive. Shortly after Harry, Meghan, and Charles left Sandringham, the Queen issued a rare personal statement expressing that while she "would have preferred" that Harry and Meghan continue to serve as senior members of the family, she and others in the family "respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family."

Last week when the meeting was first announced, a source told Town & Country that "complex and thoughtful discussions" would be required to set a new plan in motion.
While the beginnings of a "workable solution" for Harry and Meghan have seemingly been reached, changes will not immediately go into effect. "There is a genuine agreement and understanding that any decision will take time to be implemented," the source said.
