Meghan Markle Gave her Friends the Sweetest Gift
She may not have had a maid of honor, but Meghan Markle made sure that there was no doubt in the minds of her closest girlfriends how important they were to her.
The Duchess of Sussex commissioned six gold bracelets from California-based fine jewelry brand Zofia Day, each costing $450, according to People.
Among the women to receive the bracelet were stylist Jessica Mulroney, entrepreneur and entertainment lawyer Benita Litt, and Meghan's new sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge.
“It’s an overwhelming honor to be part of history and for my pieces to be given as a keepsake for this momentous occasion,” Zofia Day founder Lisette Polny told People. “It’s a really simple, elegant piece that’s just very true to her personal style.”
Meghan has long been a fan of Zofia day, and even wore a pair of its earrings on the cover of Vanity Fair in September last year. In January, meanwhile, she wore the brand's $715 bar stack ring.
Polny founded her brand six years ago, and named it after her grandmother and daughter. Her delicate gold and diamond pieces are made with ethically sourced stones.
The designer named the bracelet style "Kensington", in honor of the newlyweds, and while it was a bespoke design, she has since revealed that a version will go on sale to the rest of us soon.
Meghan also gave her bridesmaids a special gift-shoes for the wedding. Created by Aquazurra, each pair was monogrammed with the child's initials and the wedding date.
