Meghan Markle Gives a Rare Update on Baby Archie
On Friday, Meghan Markle gave a heartwarming speech at Robert Clack School in Dagenham in celebration of International Women's Day. She spoke about women's empowerment, and the role young men can play in the fight for gender equality.
“No matter how small you might feel, how low you may feel on the ladder or the totem pole, no matter what color you are, no matter what gender you are—you have a voice, and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right,” she said.
“What’s really key for all of you to remember, is especially looking at the people who paved the way for you to get to this point in your lives to be able to have the access that you do—it’s not just an opportunity to continue that, it’s a responsibility.”
While at the event, Meghan also gave a rare update about her 10-month-old son Archie.
“He’s exactly ten months today and he’s started trying to walk,” the Duchess said to 66-year-old Geraldine Dear during the school visit. And in a separate conversation with a student at Robert Clack School, Meghan revealed that “having Archie changed my life.”
According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess also spoke with another student about the importance of motherhood. “She was talking about how having Archie has changed her life and how important motherhood is,” the student said.
It's unclear if the Sussexes brought baby Archie on this trip to the UK, during which the couple have already attended numerous engagements—both public and private—ahead of their transition out of their senior roles in the royal family at the end of this month.
Tomorrow, Harry and Meghan will notably reunite with the Cambridges and Prince Charles at the annual Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
