Meghan Markle got a fright during her trip to Melbourne — much to Prince Harry's amusement
The Australian royal tour of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has turned out to be quite an emotional roller coaster. On Wednesday, the couple — and everyone else watching — experienced thrills as a 5-year-old boy gave them each a heartwarming hug in a now-viral moment.
By Thursday, however, it was all about the chills — specifically, Meghan’s shock at being witness to a small explosion.
Wearing an indigo Dion Lee Folded Sail dress, the duchess joined her husband for a demonstration of some Melbourne students’ miniature race cars. While Meghan showed a keen interest, she wasn’t prepared for the sudden blast that greeted her. Cue puff of smoke and — much to Harry’s amusement — a giggly yelp not unlike Julia Roberts’s jewelry box moment in Pretty Woman.

But the duchess was a good sport about it all. Indeed, she even participated in some sports drills, despite wearing Manolo Blahnik heels and being a few months into her pregnancy.

The former actress later switched to a $268, button-accented Club Monaco Miguelina dress, which she paired with beach-friendly flats and a Martin Grant trench coat.
Hey, if you’re going to scream in terror, you might as well look good doing it.
