This year's Trooping the Colour, in honor of the Queen's official birthday, saw Meghan Markle's first appearance at the event. And, most importantly, the Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the fly-past by the RAF's Red Arrows, which is always the highlight of the day.

Having just arrived home from their honeymoon, Trooping the Colour 2018 is an important engagement for the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and as usual, Meghan looked as flawless as ever. Wearing a bespoke dress by Carolina Herrera, the baby pink outfit, with matching hat, caught the world's attention because the Duchess looked effortlessly stunning.

But, according to The Sun, Meghan broke royal protocol with her dress choice for a very important reason.

The Sun reports that "fashion tradition usually dictates that royal women do not wear off-shoulder or other more revealing styles." However, it's worth noting that Meghan also rocked an off-the-shoulder look on her wedding day, with her Givenchy gown.

However, it seems as though the Duchess of Sussex is ready to shake up any royal fashion rules, such as the requirement to wear pantyhose. And despite baring her shoulders at Trooping the Colour, Meghan looked every bit as regal as her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who wore a pale blue ensemble. Prince Harry's wife is just doing things her way.

As the royal family's website reveals, the impressive event involves "Over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together each June in a great display of military precision, horsemanship and fanfare to mark The Queen's official birthday."
