Meghan Markle Just Talked About Her Due Date and the Sex of Her Baby
There was plenty of baby talk during Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal engagements today. While jumping between appointments and meeting fans on a walkabout, the Duchess of Sussex dropped some hints about her and Harry's first child, who is due this spring.
Meghan revealed that she is six months pregnant while speaking to a fan at the walkabout, according to royal correspondent Omid Scobie, who was on the ground with the Sussexes today. People reports that the mom-to-be also shared that she's due in late April.
The couple also revealed they don't know the sex of their child yet, and it would be a "surprise," according to British outlet ITV. Meghan's in-laws Prince William and Kate Middleton also didn't know the sex of their children before they were born.
Meghan apparently also crowdsourced name suggestions from well-wishers she met today. When one fan offered the name Amy, the duchess said, "Oh I like Amy too!” and pointed to her assistant Amy Pickerill, Scobie added.
Before Meghan's due date hint, all we knew of her baby's arrival was that it would be in "the spring of 2019," as Kensington Palace stated while announcing the duchess' pregnancy in mid-October.
If the Sussex baby does arrive in late April, it may have a close birthday with great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, who was born on April 21, or cousin Prince Louis, who was born on April 23 last year.
While visiting Number 7, a cafe and supermarket for low-income communities, Meghan chatted with another mom-to-be about their pregnancies. "Doesn't it fly by?" the duchess said.
