Meghan Markle Let Kate Middleton Take the Lead During Their First Outing Together
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle made their first appearance together sans princes this past weekend at the Wimbledon women's singles finals, and from the looks of it in pictures, they had a great time. Sources said that even though Meghan is new to the family, she has an obvious respect for Kate.
“She very much let Kate take the lead,” royal photographer Mark Stewart told People.
They arrived together and spent time meeting former female tennis champions and chatting with ball boys and girls. Meghan stayed a few paces behind Kate the entire time, which you can see in this picture.
A different source told Peopleearlier this week that Meghan's been struggling to adjust to some parts of royal life. In particular, she "has found certain rules in the royal household difficult to understand, like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits." Apparently she is "often asking Harry why things have to be done in a certain way."
If anyone understands the struggle, though, it's Kate, who also wasn't royalty before marrying Prince William. The two shared lots of laughs throughout the match and looked like they were having a great time together.
"There was no rivalry,” Stewart said. “It shows how well Meghan has adapted as she is aware that Kate will be queen one day and her position is different."
