Meghan Markle Plans to Take Baby Archie to Los Angeles as Soon as He Can Travel
It looks like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son Archie will get his first taste of the U.S. long before his parents' rumored future royal tour of the country. Us Weekly is reporting that Meghan is already planning Archie's first trip abroad to Los Angeles, and it may happen before her maternity leave ends.
“For Meghan, it’s just as important for Archie to learn about her family history as it is for him to learn about his royal ancestors, so she plans to go on a trip to L.A. with him once she’s comfortable taking him on a plane," a source told the outlet. Meghan's last trip to the U.S. that was reported was at the end of February, when she traveled to New York City for her baby shower. News of Meghan's trip didn't break until she was already in the city.
ELLE.com reported previously that Meghan was understood to have flown privately to New York, borrowing a friend's jet while being accompanied by her Palace protection officer. She spent her first weekend in the city at her friend Misha Nonoo’s Greenwich Village townhouse. Meghan was relatively unbothered by paparazzi during the first days of her trip, but on Monday, she was shot getting lunch and dinner with friends.
Don't expect Archie's U.S. visit to be nearly that public though, especially since it will be on a private, personal trip rather than a full-fledged royal tour. Meghan and Harry intend to raise their son as much like a private citizen as possible.
A source close to the couple previously told ELLE.com that Harry and Meghan consider Baby Archie to be a "private citizen" and "because he is not in the immediate line of succession, they want their son to enjoy as normal an upbringing as possible."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex intends to "shield him" and "keep many of the details of his life private."
