Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Just Arrived at the Lion King Premiere
Between Beyoncé and the Sussexes, the European premiere of The Lion King will be quite the royal event.
Meghan and Harry just arrived on the film's orange carpet, and the Duchess looks stunning wearing a black dress with sheer sleeves. She paired the look with black pumps, a small black clutch, and a sleek up-do.
For his part, Harry looked quite dapper in a tuxe.
Meghan is still technically on maternity leave following the birth of her first child, Archie? in May, and she is expected to take three months off from public duties?. But she clearly wanted to attend tonight's event and made an exception.
The Sussexes are there in support of the conservation efforts Disney has launched in tandem with the film. The media company recently kicked off a campaign called #ProtectThePride, which aims to support the struggling lion population in Africa. They arrived ahead of Queen Bey, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for a photo op later in the night.
Royal fans have been seeing quite a bit of Meghan this month. Baby Archie was christened at Windsor Castle on July 6, and while the religious ceremony was private, the Sussexes' did release two photos to the public in honor of the baptism.
The first was an intimate snapshot of the proud parents and their two-month-old son, taken in the rose garden.
And the second was a larger portrait of the royal family, which included not only the Cambridges, Prince Charles and Camilla, and Meghan's mother Doria, but also Princess Diana's two sisters.
On Wednesday, Archie made his very first public appearance, and had a play date with his cousins at a charity polo match. The Duchess of Cambridge brought her kids to cheer on Prince William, while Meghan and Archie supported Prince Harry from the sidelines.
And then just yesterday, Meghan was spotted in the royal box at Wimbledon cheering on her friend Serena Williams in the women's final. Here she is chatting with the Duchess of Cambridge during the match:
