How Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Might Celebrate Their Wedding Anniversary
Today marks the three-year anniversary of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 nuptials. The Sussexes have been following the age-old tradition of anniversary gifts by year, so they will most likely be celebrating by carrying on this romantic tradition.
A source tells People that they have their "own take on traditional wedding gifts. "The first anniversary was paper, and Meghan wrote out the wedding speech and had it framed for him." The source continued, saying that the second year "they both gave each other gifts based on 'cotton.' Undoubtedly, it was a very creative and romantic gesture as all their gifts are to one another."
According to wedding site The Knot, they symbolism behind cotton is its "woven threads symbolize how you become more interconnected as time goes on and learn to be more flexible."

A traditional third wedding anniversary gift is typically leather — to represent getting better with age, as well as "shelter and security," according to The Knot. So assuming they'll be keeping with tradition, the Duke and Duchess will be gifting each other something leather this year.

The Sussexes usually spend their anniversary as a family. Their son Archie was born just weeks before their first anniversary in 2019, so they celebrated alongside Markle's mother Doria Ragland, who came to the U.K. to meet her grandson with a traditional Sunday lunch, according to People. Harry also marked the special occasion by gifting his wife with eternity ring.
This year, they'll most likely celebrate with their son Archie in their Montecito home in California while they await the arrival of their daughter
"They are both extremely attentive parents. Harry wants to give Archie the childhood he always wanted," a source told People. "They spend a ton of time outside, and both Harry and Meghan love to play — all the private space is a dream for them."
