How Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Spent a Rare Public Date Night in London
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent their Saturday like many couples: having a fancy date out in the city, something they rarely do as royals. This time, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen out in London, attending a West End production of Tina the Musical, based on Tina Turner's life. The social media accounts of the show shared that Meghan and Harry had been in the audience the morning after they attended.
"We were thrilled and honoured to welcome The Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the show last night. #TinaTheMusical," the show wrote on its Instagram.
Many of Meghan and Harry's dates-or at least those that are eventually reported-are to the theater. Back when the two were just engaged, they went to see Hamilton on West End in February 2018. "Was an honour to have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in to watch @HamiltonWestEnd last night!" cast member Leslie Garcia Bowman wrote on Twitter at the time. The couple would later see Hamilton again six months later during an official royal engagement in August: a charity gala performance of the musical meant to raise funds for Sentebale, an organization of which Harry is patron.
Harry and Meghan have done more than see shows on West End during their dates in the city. The Sun reported in March 2017-when Meghan and Harry were just dating and not even engaged yet-that Harry took her to London's Natural History Museum. Of course, they didn't just stroll in with everyone else during normal business hours. They did it after hours for privacy...true royal perks.
“Meg had always wanted to go so Harry arranged a private visit," a source told the outlet then. "It’s quite romantic after dark as all the exhibits, including the dinosaurs, are all still lit up. And of course, they had it to themselves.”
