Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Totally Changing the Look of Frogmore Cottage
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to renovate Frogmore Cottage.
The Windsor estate previously underwent massive changes before baby Archie arrived.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally moved into their new home at Frogmore Cottage earlier this year ahead of Archie's birth, but they're still finding things that need to be renovated. So far, the new parents have had to remove toxic paint, redo the floors, and fix a bunch of other stuff. With the amount of renovations they've had to do, one would think the Queen sent them to live in squalor. Luckily, that's not how the royal family and their wallets operate, and Meghan and Harry just want their new place to reflect their tastes and be kid-friendly.
So far, they've outfitted their home with springy floors designed with yoga classes in mind, vegan paint, and a smart phone monitoring system. And now that Archie has arrived, they're ready to go full-out with the renovations and get the place in tip-top shape before he starts running around.
According to some construction plans published by The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, their focus is on the outside of the house now, though Harry apparently wants a custom kitchen and dining room so he can "do some entertaining."
People reports that one of the projects involves "redecorating its gutters and downpipes," which I hope is more involved than hanging wind chimes on them. They're also redoing their doors, windows, outdoor walls, and some of the other buildings on the property. Basically, it's going to look like a whole new home.
Obviously Archie can't walk yet, but Meghan and Harry want to refresh the garden and add some lighting to make it safer and easier for him to navigate once he's more mobile.
As for the overall vibe, a People source said their home is “so cute and warm. The energy of the space is so much better [than Kensington Palace]. It’s a total fresh start.”
Looks like all the redecorating is paying off!
