Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Prince William team up for Remembrance Day
The royal “Fab Four” — Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William — got together at Saturday’s Festival of Remembrance Service at Royal Albert Hall in their first public reunion since the summer.
The event commemorates those who have died in battle, and for its somber tone, Markle and Middleton wore dark, belted dresses decorated with a red poppy, the official flower since 1921 to honor fallen soldiers, reported People.
According to the Daily Mail, Markle wore Aquazzura Deneuve Bow pointy toe pumps and earrings by Jessica McCormack. And Middleton donned pearl earrings (a loaner from Queen Elizabeth) and a Zara headband.
Markle also wore the flower on Thursday while attending the 91st Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey, along with a belted black coat and a netted fascinator.
On Saturday, the young royals joined the rest of the family for the ceremony, including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles.
According to People, the last time the foursome presented as a united front was back in July at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day. During the daytime event, two of Will and Kate’s children, Prince George, 6, and Princess Charlotte, 4, played in the grass while Meghan cradled son Archie, then 2 months-old.
Saturday’s appearance was buzzy, given rumors of a rift between Prince Harry and Prince William. According to People, there was chatter that Will disapproved of Harry’s fast-moving romance with Markle — the couple dated for 15 months before their engagement, versus Will and Kate who became engaged after an eight-year relationship.
And whispers that Markle and Middleton were at odds fueled tension.
In October, Harry commented on the alleged distance from his big brother in the October ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. Regarding their royal roles, Harry said, “Inevitably stuff happens. But we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment. I’ll always be there for him and as I know, he’ll always be there for me. We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly.”
“The majority of stuff is created out of nothing,” said Harry. “As brothers, we have good days and we have bad days.”
According to USA Today, the couple will unite again on Sunday for the annual Remembrance Day Service at London’s The Cenotaph.
