  • A palace source denies that Meghan Markle will appear on a new reality television show about weddings.

  • Meghan’s BFF Jessica Mulroney is working on the show, which is probably how the rumors started.

Update: February 2, 2020

Please join me in a moment of silence for Meghan Markle’s reality-TV career. Just a day after reports surfaced that Meghan would make an appearance on a new Netflix show, the palace is shutting down the rumors.

According to People, a palace source shared that news of Meghan joining her BBF Jessica Mulroney’s show is “categorically untrue.” Additionally, CTV, the network that partnered with Netflix for the show, also confirmed that Meghan wouldn’t make an appearance, tweeting, “The Duchess of Sussex does not appear in upcoming @CTV series I Do, Redo.”

Womp, womp.

Original story: February 1, 2020

Now that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no longer working members of the royal family or receiving a royal allowance, they’ll be taking on new projects. So far, there has been speculation that Meghan will be doing a voice-over for Disney in exchange for a donation to an elephant charity, and she’s also reportedly in talks to collaborate with some fashion houses. Plus, Meghan and Harry are trying to trademark their Sussex Royal brand, presumably to start their own charitable foundation.

And while that all seems pretty on brand for Harry and Meghan (after all, they did say in their step-down agreement that “everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty”), it’s now being reported that Meghan might be getting involved with...reality television? According to Page Six, Meghan’s best friend stylist Jessica Mulroney is working on a reality-television show called I Do, Redo for Netflix, all about couples who are getting married for the second time. Per the press release, the show “revisits first-time wedding disasters before remaking the wedding dreams of 10 devoted couples.”

A source close to the production team shared that Meghan will be making multiple “sporadic” appearances on the show, and it’s not clear whether Meghan will be paid for the appearances.

TBH, it doesn’t seem super likely that Meghan would pivot from a member of the royal family/international celebrity and humanitarian to reality-TV-show star, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if these reports are true! ˉ\_(ツ)_/ˉ
