Meghan Markle Reportedly Isn’t Inviting Kate Middleton to Her Birthday Party
Meghan Markle reportedly isn’t inviting Kate Middleton and Prince William to her 38th birthday.
Meghan and Kate are good friends—so don’t read too much into this!
We can all agree that between their joint Wimbledon appearance and that family polo match outing, the Palace has been doing the very most to make it clear that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are *not* feuding. But a source is out here claiming to The Sun that Meghan doesn’t plan to invite Kate to her upcoming 38th birthday party at Frogmore Cottage. To quote: “It is unlikely that the Cambridges will be invited to Meghan's 38th birthday on Sunday.”
Before you jump to conclusions and start furiously typing a royal feud–themed Twitter thread, it’s likely that Meghan’s party will be extremely low key. Truly, less of a party and more of a hang session with her, Prince Harry, and baby Archie. So—just guessing here—perhaps that is why it’s “unlikely” that the Cambridges will show.
Either way, Meghan and Kate are reportedly enjoying a strong friendship these days, with a source telling Hello Magazine (via the Daily Mail) that “Kate was a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archie’s birth. Despite reports of a rift, they are family and have a really lovely friendship. Their relationship has certainly evolved over time and they have become closer since Meghan’s wedding.”
And they chat all the time, FWIW: “They talk and text regularly. They have more in common, and Kate has wanted to make sure Meghan has felt welcome into the family.”
In other words: no drama to be found here.
