Meghan Markle Shares a Previously Unseen Photo to Announce That She Will Guest Edit British Vogue
After months of speculation, tonight, Buckingham Palace confirmed the rumors that Meghan Markle will guest edit the September issue of British Vogue.
For the past seven months, she has been working on the "Forces for Change" edition of the publication, which will include a conversation between Michelle Obama and the Duchess, as well as an interview between Prince Harry and environmentalist Dr. Jane Goodall.
But, as royal correspondent Victoria Murphy previously reported for Town & Country, Meghan will not appear on the cover of the issue. Instead, it will showcase
fifteen inspiring women, including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, boxer Ramla Ali, ballet dancer Francesca Hayward, and actor Jameela Jamil, among others, as well as a mirror to reflect the reader.
That said, tonight's announcement included a previously unseen photo of the Duchess, which will appear inside the issue. The picture shows Meghan making a secret visit to one of her patronages, Smart Works, and in the photo (above), the Duchess appears to be wearing a Gucci dress, as reported by the blog Meghan's Mirror.
In a statement, Meghan described working on the issue as "a rewarding process."
"Through this lens I hope you’ll feel the strength of the collective in the diverse selection of women chosen for the cover as well as the team of support I called upon within the issue to help bring this to light," she said. "I hope readers feel as inspired as I do, by the 'Forces for Change' they’ll find within these pages."
British Vogue's "Forces for Change" issue hits news stands August 2.
