Meghan Markle has been spotted for the first time since stepping down from senior royal duties. The Duchess, who's currently in Canada while Prince Harry remains in England, made a surprise visit to The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre in Vancouver, which is a safe space and sanctuary for women. Per the DEWC's site, "the Centre provides supportive surroundings with meals, counseling, advocacy and programs which nurture and empower members."

According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, Meghan had tea with staff, learned more about the center, and "discussed issues affecting women in the community."

Meghan has been going through it lately thanks to the fallout from her and Harry's decision to split their time between Canada and the United Kingdom. The royals recently had a summit to discuss the terms of this move, and the Queen made it clear she supports the royal couple, saying "Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family."

She continued, "Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives. It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK. These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days."

It's unclear when Harry will return to Canada to join Meghan, but stay tuned.
