Meghan Markle's Capsule Collection Will Launch This Month
When Meghan Markle announced earlier this summer that she was launching a capsule collection, details were kept to a minimum. But now, we finally have a premiere date and information on the launch event, as well as a behind-the-scenes video.
Royal reporter Omid Scobie tweeted that the range—which includes a shirt, pants, a blazer, a dress, and a bag—will be unveiled on September 12, the day before London Fashion Week starts. Before it becomes available online, Meghan will offer a few words, and watch a panel discussion with Smart Works clients.
Meghan recently offered her fans a sneak preview of her upcoming clothing line—and it looks like she's been having as fun making it as royal watchers will wearing it.
In an Instagram story posted to Harry and Meghan's official account, @sussexroyal, Meghan can be seen on the set of a promotional shoot for the collection. "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers plays in the background, as the models, crew, and the Duchess work behind the scenes. Check it out for yourself below.
Meghan Markle first announced that she was launching a capsule collection back in July. The line will consist of workwear, and will benefit support Smart Works—one of Meghan's patronages, which helps underprivileged women secure employment.
The Duchess first teased the collection in an Instagram post. The five-photo slideshow featured previously-unseen images of Meghan, with four from her visit to Smart Works this past winter, and one more recent snap.
The caption explained that during Meghan's visits to the charity, "she noticed that while the donations were plentiful, they were also notably a combination of mismatched items and colors which weren’t always the right stylistic choices or sizes that didn’t necessarily 'suit' the job at hand: to make a woman feel confident and inspired as she walked into her job interview."
To bring her vision to life, the Duchess is partnering with her fashion designer friend, Misha Nonoo, department stores Marks & Spencer and John Lewis, and the clothing brand Jigsaw.
