Meghan Markle wore a stunning white trench dress for royal baby Archie’s debut: Shop the look

For the official introduction of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal baby, Meghan wore a classic sleeveless trench dress by Grace Wales Bonner. The white dress is tailored and features two pockets, double breasted buttons and cinched at the waist with a belt. Meghan styled the dress with her favorite Manolo Blahnik BB heels and a $750 turquoise necklace by Jennifer Meyer (but Nordstrom has a similar 18-karat gold plated version for $70 if you’re looking to buy).

Over the years, the duchess has sported trench dresses on numerous occasions, making it a natural choice for Meghan to wear on this important day. During Meghan’s first official royal engagement with Prince William and Kate Middleton, she wore a navy silk Jason Wu trench dress.

During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal tour to New Zealand, Meghan sported a similar white tuxedo dress by Maggie Marilyn. Other notable trench dress moments include her striped Altuzarra dress at the the Commonwealth Youth Forum and then there was her pretty pastel pink Nonie dress at the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition.

However, the Grace Wales Bonner dress might be her most meaningful, specifically that it is white. In one interpretation, psychologist Carole Kanchier wrote for the HuffPost explaining that, “white symbolizes purity, cleanliness, safety, completion, strength and neutrality.” Adding, someone might wear white “to feel peaceful, convey a well-balanced, optimistic personality.” In other ways, one could interpret white as a reference to Meghan’s feminist beliefs, which allude to Suffragette white.
