Meghan Markle Used Only These 2 Emojis to Tell Her Friend About the Royal Wedding

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their royal wedding date, we figured friends and family were informed via gold engraved placards or royal carrier doves. But according to Markle’s close friend and wedding makeup artist, Daniel Martin, that couldn’t be further from the truth.  

The celebrity makeup artist visited Good Morning America on Tuesday and revealed that he found out about the royal wedding in a totally relatable way: via emoji.  

Martin spoke of first learning the news, saying, “She [texted and] was, like, ‘Hey, what are you doing May 19?’ And then she sent me two emojis of the bride and groom.” Um sounds exactly like our group chat.

Obviously, Martin was more than willing to clear his calendar. “I was, like, ‘OK, yeah, whatever you need,’” he recalled.

Martin went on to share a few memories from the bridal suite, and not surprisingly, the Duchess of Sussex was cool as a royal cucumber during her pre-wedding glam sesh. “We had breakfast. Guy, her dog, was with us,” the makeup artist recalled. “We were playing around with him. It was a very chill morning…her mom was there, which was amazing.”
