After cheering on her friend earlier this summer at Wimbledon, Meghan Markle is once again in the stands to support Serena Williams—this time, at the U.S. Open in New York.

Meghan arrived court-side wearing a denim dress, paired with a gray jacket and sunglasses. The Duchess wore her hair down, making for a casual look. She took her seat in Williams's box, just behind Williams's husband Alexis Ohanian, and in front of Anna Wintour.

The Duchess had reportedly been considering making the solo trip since Williams won the quarter-final match. After staying up late last night to watch Williams in the semifinals, the Times of London reports that Meghan quickly booked a trip, hopping on a plane just seven hours after Williams won the match.

"It is a last-minute trip," a source told the Times. "Excited to support her friend, and then come back."

Meghan and Williams have been close for some time. They met in 2010 at a Super Bowl party, and quickly hit it off. "Taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing and chatting not about tennis or acting but about good old fashioned girly stuff," the Duchess wrote on her now-defunct blog, The Tig.

Williams has remained in Meghan's inner circle as she's transitioned to royal life. The tennis star and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, attended Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding last year. Just this past winter, Williams reportedly played a key role in organizing Meghan's New York baby shower—and this summer, the Daily Mail reported, Williams and Ohanian met baby Archie.
