Meghan Markle has taken her spot at the U.S. Open to watch her friend Serena Williams play in the final. Meghan dressed causally, wearing a denim dress for the match in Queens. Should Williams win this afternoon, Meghan will witness her 24th Grand Slam victory.

The Duchess of Sussex was reported to have traveled to New York City from London yesterday morning on a last-minute trip to support her friend. The Times was the first outlet to report the news of Meghan's commercial flight abroad. “It is a last-minute trip,” a source told the outlet. Meghan is “excited to support her friend, and then come back.”

A source told Page Six yesterday that Williams was thrilled Meghan came abroad. “Serena adores Meghan, and she’s so excited about her coming to the Open,” the source said.

Meghan had been keeping up with Williams' matches in London. She stayed up late on Thursday night to watch Williams win her semi-final match. It was after that Meghan decided to hop on a 7 A.M. flight hours later to cheer on her friend in person.

This is Meghan's second trip to New York City this year. Meghan visited the city in the winter for her baby shower. Williams co-hosted it. A Royal insider shared with ELLE.com at the time that “the shower was a chance for Meg to share excitement of the baby with her closest friends, some of which she hadn’t seen for some time. It was a beautiful gathering filled with love and celebration—she couldn’t stop smiling.”
