Meghan Markle Wore a Thing: Banana Republic Trench Dress in Africa Edition
The Duchess of Sussex continues to sport budget-friendly pieces while touring South Africa.
Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect? with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has been known to wear — and love — a number of affordable pieces, from her clothing to her accessories. In doing so, she proves just how easy it is to make a few simple pieces — such as an Aritzia dress or an Everlane jumpsuit — look incredibly luxe.
On Tuesday, The Duchess arrived at the University of Johannesburg in the South African capital to announce a series of new gender grants and scholarships from the Association of Commonwealth Universities, of which she is a patron. Several of the grants allowed students to study in different Commonwealth countries.
Markle opted for a double-breasted trench dress by Banana Republic for the occasion. The business-ready frock is still available in white for $139. She kept the rest of her outfit minimal with a pair of nude suede pumps by Stuart Weitzman and gold jewelry by Alemdara and Jennifer Meyer.
