Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect? with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

Having studied Meghan Markle's wardrobe choices for some time now, we know she is a big fan of a cape dress: The Duchess of Sussex wore a navy Stella McCartney one back in April and a turquoise-blue version by Safiyaa in October. And most recently, arriving with Prince Harry to the Casablanca airport on a visit to Morocco, she debuted a fresh play on the style, wearing a capelet dress, rather than one of the longer, drape-y iterations she's favored in the past.

The look in question is a bright-red dress by Valentino, and keen followers of Markle's style on the internet have identified it as an entirely bespoke look created for the Duchess, though the pattern and capelet elements were featured in the label's Spring 2013 collection.

The Duchess completed the look with blush-toned pumps and a matching leather bag, also by Valentino.
