Meghan Markle Wore a Thing: Red Sentaler Wrap Coat Edition
The Duchess of Sussex, who is reportedly due in April, wore bright and bold colors for her first public appearance with Prince Harry of the year.
Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect? with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."
On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kicked off a week of official visits with a stop at England's Birkenhead, just outside of Liverpool. Meghan Markle, who is reportedly due in April, wore bright and bold colors for her first public appearance with Prince Harry of the year.
The Duchess wore a scarlet red wrap coat (currently available for pre-order) from Canadian brand Sentaler. She paired that with a purple maxi dress with long sleeves and a high slit — Aritzia's Babaton "Maxwell" dress, that's now sold out — as well as red suede pumps from Stuart Weitzman. To balance out the punchy color combination (a duo of shades that was actually favored by Princess Diana), the Duchess didn't shy too far away from her penchant for neutral and muted tones, opting for a Gabriela Hearst "Nina" handbag in the color cognac.
As we mentioned before, the royal couple will make yet another appearance later this week, as the Kensington Palace announced that they will attend the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's "Totem" at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Wednesday evening. In the meantime, here's to hoping for more unexpected color palettes from the Duchess in 2019.
