Meghan Markle's $1,995 sleeveless dress called 'inappropriate'
There’s still a month to go before the world gets a look at Meghan Markle‘s highly anticipated wedding dress, but she’s already making a statement in white.
The bride-to-be cut a stylish figure as she joined Prince Harry Wednesday for a youth forum celebrating the Commonwealth.
The sunny day called for a summery outfit, and Markle delivered with a white-and-black pinstriped dress by Altuzarra — available to buy for $1,995.
The outfit’s styling suited the former actress’s budding reputation as a fashion icon. She wore her black Camilla and Marc blazer on her shoulders, fashion editor-style, while an Oroton crossbody purse — a Markle staple — continued the striped theme.
Strappy black heels by former Jimmy Choo designer Tamara Mellon completed the look.
Once inside, Markle ditched the blazer (it’s 77 degrees in London), exposing her bare shoulders in a rare sleeveless piece.
Prince Harry and Ms. Markle also meet past winners of the @QueensLeaders Award, who were taking part in the forum too. #CHOGM2018 pic.twitter.com/5x2OhfRv5j

Many on social media called the look “inappropriate.”
This is why the royal family should not marry commoners. This dress is so …. so …. not appropriate, to say it nicely.

1) Ok, I love Meghan but someone needs to pull her aside and tell her that she needs to stop thumbing her nose at proper styling for events she attends. Put the jacket back on. This is business not a garden party.

2) Not that a royal should or would ever bare their shoulders at all…

Bare shoulders? Really?? pic.twitter.com/nladLcFlGr

However, others jumped to her defense (and, considering Kensington Palace posted a photo of her without a blazer draped over shoulders, it seems to signify that the royal family doesn’t have a problem with it either).
What’s inappropriate about this dress…

Meghan looks great & is staying true to her style. I glad she isn’t wearing a grandma-like dress. Can’t wait for her & Harry to marry ??

Will she go sleeveless on the big day? Or is this as close as it gets?
