Critics call out 'rude and entitled' Meghan McCain after she says 'passionate women' are unfairly portrayed as 'hysterical'
Hours before John Oliver called her “the most embarrassing child of a prominent political figure you’ve ever seen” during Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight, Meghan McCain went on Twitter to vent about being portrayed as “hysterical.”
McCain, whom critics have frequently accused of acting “rude” during political debates on The View, asked her Twitter followers why “passionate women” get a bad rap when they express their opinions.
Just curious if there is any conservative woman in media who isn't considered "hysterical" when presenting their view point? Or are passionate women in general always "hysterical"?

Some sympathized with McCain, with Mia Farrow and actor Michael Ian Black being among those agreeing that women are treated harshly and unfairly.
“The non-hysterical conservative females are bimbos,” added Liz Wheeler, a host on the right-leaning One America News Network. “You can take your pick: bimbo or hysterical or controlled by a domineering husband, according to the left.”
But the tweet has had critics chiming in to blame McCain — who recently clashed with late-night star Seth Meyers over her comments about congresswoman Ilhan Omar, prompting McCain’s husband, Ben Domenech, to blast Meyers as “awful” and “untalented” — and her own behavior for any “hysterical” image she may have.
One called the daughter of late Sen. John McCain a “perpetual victim,” while other McCain critics shot back, “just you.” Several cited recent conflicts she’s had on The View, such as telling co-host Joy Behar “part of your job is to listen to me.”
I wouldn't call you hysterical, but your passion has turned into moments of extreme rudeness on the show. I agree with you more than anyone else on the show, but your behavior is a turn off most of the time.

You shouldn’t confuse passion with hysteria and rude behavior. Huge difference!

It’s all in how one ‘presents’ their information - if they’ve ‘vetted’ their information - and in how one constructively channels their passion to deliver that information.
One who stomps their Manolo’s and whines like a petulant child WILL earn the moniker of hysterical.— Loni Reeder (@lonireeder) May 19, 2019
It isn't your viewpoint. It's your delivery: scoffing, eye rolling, hair flipping, sighing, increased volume, 'ty ma'am, the only one clapping!' That's hysteria, and being a self-proclaimed political animal 'who knows alot of people in office' is no excuse.

For me, you seem childish- if people don’t agree with you. Like a spoiled child who crosses their arms. Even on things that I can agree with you on. It’s still annoying. I think it’s your delivery. The eye rolling & arm crossing is too much..

Rolling your eyes all the time on opposing views doesn’t help.

There’s nothing wrong with being passionate. Being shrill and belligerent is different. The loudest person isn’t always right. Just take a breath. 😊

I wouldn’t describe you as hysterical. However, your passion does, at times, come across as rude and entitled. Whether male or female, conservative or democrat, when you choose to employ rudeness to get your point across you’ve lost the argument.

Meghan, if they call you "Hysterical" it is simply because you yell, you have a high itched voice and it is grating on the ears. Mello your tone or let the adults do the talking. I AM a Conservative woman!!!

McCain has not yet addressed the criticism from her detractors.
