Megyn Kelly and Rita Ora Shine (Literally) in Identical $2,995 Sequined Dresses
Megyn Kelly arrived at the Time 100 Gala Tuesday night looking absolutely glam — and a tad familiar. The future NBC News host walked the red carpet draped in a deep bronze, midi-length, sequined dress with a ruffled hem and shoulder. The slinky frock happened to be the same number worn by Rita Ora to the Cycle 23 premiere of America’s Next Top Model in December. Who wore it better? They’re both too good to call.
The asymmetrical spaghetti-strap stunner is called San Jacinto, and it’s a piece from the Spring 2017 collection by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz. It retails for $2,995.
Fans have been understandably dazzled by Ortiz’s designs — specifically the metallic dress donned by Kelly and Ora. One fan called the dress “perfection” on Kelly, who paired it with black strappy sandals, just as Ora did. Another called the dress “Fire!”

But Kelly and Ora aren’t the only fans of Ortiz’s playfully ornate designs. Actress/model Jamie King wore a kimono-inspired pantsuit by the designer to Marie Claire’s Fresh Faces event in Los Angeles earlier this month. Designer (and mom to Beyoncé) Tina Knowles spent Easter in a blue-and-white striped Ortiz blouse, and Busy Philipps sparkled in a blush metallic cutout dress by the designer at Daily Front Row’s 3rd Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards in West Hollywood a few weeks ago.

But part of what makes Ortiz’s designs so irresistible is that she’s not targeting celebrities per sé; she designs or every women. “I find that my clothing can appeal to women of every age,” Ortiz told Harper’s Bazaar. “I love to see how women of different generations make my designs their own. What they have in common is that they are looking for clothing that will make them feel beautiful and accentuate their femininity.”
