Melania Trump Responds to Ivana
Donald Trump's first wife Ivana is starting feuds left and right.
Over the weekend, in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning promoting her new book Raising Trump, she called Trump's second wife, Marla Maples, a "showgirl" and a "nobody."
And now, she's angered his current wife Melania by saying, "I’m first lady" in an interview with Good Morning America, again to promote her book.
When explaining how she has a direct line to speak with the president, Ivana said, "I have a direct number to the White House. I [don’t] really want to call him there, because Melania is there, and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that, because I’m basically first Trump wife. Okay? I’m first lady."
The statement has since warranted a response from the first lady's office.
"Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and The President. She loves living in Washington, DC and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States,” the first lady’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement to reporter Benjy Sarlin.
"She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately only attention seeking and self-serving noise."
Before this incident, Melania and Ivana were quite civil, so much so that Ivana even said "I get along with Melania, yes," during her recent CBS interview. It's unclear how this will change their relationship.
