Melania Trump wears parrot-print dress from a Kate Middleton favorite, Erdem
Is Melania Trump prepping for this week’s trip to meet the royals by taking style cues from Kate Middleton?
The first lady, who is expected to join President Trump for his July 13 visit with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle, on Sunday wore a dress designed by one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favorite designers, Erdem.
Given his popularity with Kate, the London-based designer was rumored to be making Meghan Markle’s wedding dress — though that honor ultimately fell to Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller. But Erdem did get some love from FLOTUS, who went summer-chic in his Kasia paisley parrot-print cotton sundress. The dress is on sale for $456, down from its original price of $1,288.
Trump paired the dress with bold orange accessories as she held hands with her husband on the lawn of the White House, just back from a weekend stay at the president’s New Jersey golf resort. The first lady wore orange Manolo Blahnik BB heels as well as a coordinating leather belt.
The Trumps are unlikely to meet with Kate during their U.K. trip, as the duchess is on maternity leave and reportedly avoiding London, where large anti-Trump protests are planned.
