Melanie Lynskey Shares Sweet Throwback Wedding Photo With Jason Ritter
The couple said 'I do' on the front porch of their Atlanta home back in 2020.
Melanie Lynskey and Jason Ritter celebrated another year of marriage, and the actress marked the big occasion with a heartfelt message shared alongside a throwback photo from the day the couple wed.
Lynskey, 45, took to Instagram on Friday to share the sweet picture from her and Ritter's wedding day three years ago.
"Happy anniversary to my love @jason_ritter , you wonderful kind beautiful man. I still smile every time I remember our very tiny wedding. This is one of about eight pictures I have. Sorry if I look too glamorous in this photo guys, it is what it is #uggslippers."
In the snap, Lynskey and Ritter, 43, are all smiles as the Yellowjackets star poses in a white lace dress with red Ugg slippers while the upcoming Matlock cast member stands beside her in a button-up white shirt, black tie, black skinny jeans, and matching boots.
The newlyweds are joined by their friends and fellow Hollywood stars, William Jackson Harper (Midsommar, The Good Place, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) and Ali Ahn (Billions, Orange is the New Black, Raising Dion).

Among those gushing over the adorable picture was Ritter, who recalled the day from his perspective. "You looked so beautiful that day it was crazy. I’ll never forget you demanded I go to the hair salon and get 'The Cynthia' before you would agree to marry me… and I am so glad you did," he wrote.
"I love you and I am so grateful @aliahn and @williamjacksonharper could be there making up 67% of our guests, not including our daughter," Ritter continued, "I love you and am looking forward to growing my hair back into that same haircut one day so we can get married again!"
The couple, who have been together for nearly 10 years, has managed to keep much of their relationship private. Still, their decision to wed in a very casual manner is something Lynskey previously opened up about.
For those that need a refresh, the two first announced their engagement in Feb. 2017 and quietly welcomed a daughter almost two years later in Dec. 2018. Lynskey and Ritter tied the knot three years later in an intimate ceremony at their home in Atlanta shortly before the actress was set to film outside the country for the Showtime series.
"Honestly, I got married because someone was like, 'Jason won't get into Canada unless you're married,' which just wasn't true. We were waiting until like after the [pandemic]," she told SiriusXM's Jess Cagle in May 2022.
"I was going to Canada for Yellowjackets, and I was on the phone with somebody, and they said, 'Oh, he won't be allowed in.' And I was like, 'We have a child. What? I can't leave for six months.' So, I was like, 'We have to get married tomorrow,'" she explained.
Lynskey concluded, "We got married on our front porch of our little rental house in Atlanta. A nice lady came and married us. We had two friends there. Ali Ahn and William Jackson Harper … They brought a cake and flowers and everything we needed. It was actually a very fun wedding day, but it didn't need to happen. He could totally have gotten into Canada."
While the ceremony may have been unnecessary at the time, the two are clearly very grateful for that day and each other.
