ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Well, there isn’t much that would get New Mexicans running quite like some chips and salsa.

On Sunday morning, participants laced up their running shoes for the 20th Annual Los Ranchos de Albuquerque “Chips and Salsa Half Marathon.”

There were also shorter distances for those who wanted to take part. Instead, they could do a 10K, 5K, Kids K, or a virtual run.

Lots of kids showed up for this event with one noting her goal was just to have a fun and great time.

Participants also got to experience the new fast and flat loop course through the scenic North Valley and Los Ranchos neighborhoods, all while taking in the fall smell of chile roasting.
