Style Me Pretty

A Miami Backyard that Begs for Margaritas and Chill

School's almost out, the sun is shining bright and the margs are full, cold and with a hearty dose of salt - if only I had a backyard that looks like Amanda's over at Fashionable Hostess! Seeing that she probably wouldn't love it if I pitched a tent, I'm doing the next best thing and diving deep into all of the pretty pics captured by Simply Lively and the amazing inspiration that she sent our way. Her insta feed is pretty gorgeous too if you love chic, totally approachable style. Read on and you can see the full gallery here!

From Amanda ... Welcome to our little piece of Miami paradise. I'm Amanda and I am the creator and founder of Fashionable Hostess and I'm so excited to share our little slice of heaven with you today!

I love to share photos of our backyard as we are lucky to live in Miami where it's essentially summer year round, thus having a fabulous outdoor space is as important as having a great family room space. It's where we hang with friends, play with our kids, and often eat lunch as a family.

A bit about the outdoor space... We have two different seating areas, the covered patio space and the poolside space. The covered patio (above) is meant to feel like a family room.; a big comfy couch and chairs (in outdoor fabrics but comfortable and beautiful enough to go indoors!), coffee tables to display foods and drinks, and a dining space for lunch with the kids or dinner with friends.

Then closer to the pool we needed seating in quick dry materials for rainy days or wet tushes! I love the "cushioned but quick dry" mix of these outdoor pieces.

Once again though, to dress up the couches, I added bright colored pillows - again outdoor fabrics but pretty enough to go indoors. I will even tell you that I leave all my pillows out in the Miami sun and rain and they are fine!

Although before parties and get togethers, I usually remove the covers and toss them in the wash so they look their best, I do think that investing in high quality pieces is worth the splurge and will go a long way in keeping them always looking good.

Because it can get so hot (and Dane is just a baby!), it was important to have some big umbrellas for shade. I just love the striped Frontgate umbrellas because they give the space that Italian riviera feel.

My mission in writing Fashionable Hostess is to inspire everyone to live their most beautiful life, whether it's decorating their dream home or throwing the best dinner parties, and through my website and instagram {@fashionablehostess} I show a daily peak into my own life, all the while balancing running a business and being a mom of three under 5!
