Miami DJ says he was turned away from venue for having gold teeth: 'Definitely racist'
A Miami DJ who goes by the name Sam Sneak is claiming that he was discriminated against by a local establishment after he was turned away because of his gold teeth.
Sneak called out the Wharf on his Twitter for barring him from entering the outdoor music venue because of what was in his mouth. Although he tweeted that the bouncers told him gold teeth were against the establishment’s dress code, the DJ said he’s never heard such a thing.
I NEVER EVER HEARD of a dress code involving Gold Teeth.
Lol. I jus was kicked out of The Wharf cause I had gold teeth

Followers were quick to respond to Sneak’s tweets, saying that the incident “sounds more like racism” rather than a simple dress code issue.
SMH….. dress code sounds more like racism to me.

The DJ also took to his Instagram account to share a video from outside of the venue, where he reiterated his account of what happened and even pointed out the bouncers who told him he couldn’t enter.

Some people in the comments shared similar stories of getting turned away from the venue. One person even wrote, “They told me I had to tuck my chain in or I couldn’t come in.”
“Wharf Miami is definitely racist and discriminates,” someone claimed, while another pointed out, “I mean look at they Instagram account nothing but white people on there.”
A spokesperson from the venue, however, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that it wasn’t Sneak’s race or gold teeth that kept him from entering the space. Instead, she says that the DJ was believed to have drugs in his possession.
“We would like to clarify why we did not allow a certain guest into our establishment. On Saturdays and Sundays during the day, we are a family-friendly environment that welcomes parents and children. We do not permit illegal drugs on property, whether day or night, and the person in question appeared to have drugs in his possession in plain sight,” a statement from the establishment reads. “When we asked him to remove the drugs, he began to display inappropriate behavior, including screaming profanity, which was why our security team refused the guest entry. Regarding our dress code, we are a special event venue, so our dress code changes based on the event taking place at that time. That said, permanent gold teeth are and always have been allowed at The Wharf. The safety and comfort of all of our guests is always of the utmost importance to us. The Wharf does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, creed or national origin and welcomes all people to enjoy our unique waterfront venue.”
According to an Instagram story by Sneak’s manager, Shana Taylor, the DJ “did not have any drugs on him.” Taylor went on to write that the venue’s allegations against Sneak are why they have decided to pursue legal action.
