Michael Strahan's daughter Isabella Strahan is opening up more about her challenging health journey since being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
The 19-year-old daughter of the Good Morning America host underwent emergency surgery after receiving the diagnosis in October 2023, and her rehabilitation process since then has been far from easy.
After initially sharing the news of her cancer battle on GMA this week, Isabella has been posting videos on her YouTube page to give her followers more context about what she's been going through over the past few months.
In her latest YouTube vlog, Isabella—with the help of her dad, his girlfriend Kayla Quick and the teen's twin sister, Sophia—detailed the process of freezing her eggs, a procedure she admitted was "rough."
"Since chemo and radiation can affect my fertility, my first step was egg freezing," Isabella explained in the clip, insisting it was "not fun" to prepare for the procedure, which required her getting hormone shots in her stomach.
"You hated the shots," Quick chimed in, while Isabella agreed and said the injections "hurt so bad."
"I am not a big needle person," the college student confessed. "I've gotten used to my blood and IVs, but shots? That was rough."
As for the actual egg retrieval, Isabella's procedure took place on Thanksgiving Day in November right around the start of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
"It was like a CIA operation, getting there," Quick joked, noting that their family was still able to have a nice Thanksgiving together when Isabella was done with the procedure.
"This was a good time," Isabella recalled. "I still had hair. I loved that." Eventually, she decided to shave her head after the radiation made her hair so thin it began to fall out.
"I couldn't even look at myself," the teen remembered, while revealing that she later shaved off her hair in the middle of the night while FaceTiming her twin sister.
Isabella then shared where she stands on the road to recovery, which currently involves finishing up radiation treatment before she starts chemo for six months.
By the end of the video, Isabella promised there will be "much more" content to come in the future, so her followers can stay tuned for more updates along this journey with her.
