Michael Strahan's Most Recent Absence from 'GMA' Explained
Michael Strahan
Good Morning America looked a little different to viewers this morning as Michael Strahan was noticeably not there.
Seated next to George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts on Monday, Nov. 20, was broadcaster Linsey Davis, who was filling in for Strahan.
Fans need not worry as he previously missed a string of shows due to scheduling conflicts with his role on Fox NFL Sundays, which he hosts from Los Angeles.
The host was back on the show on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and in good spirits as he celebrated his 52nd birthday! As Roberts and Stephanopoulos wished him the best, he made a self-depreciating joke, calling himself an "aging jock."
Good Morning America viewers have been missing Strahan a lot this month, as he previously took a lengthy hiatus to take care of "personal family matters," according to an ABC spokesperson, which required he take a three-week-long break from filming both GMA and Fox NFL Sundays, at the end of October and into the beginning of November.
Strahan made his big return about a week ago, causing his co-stars to tear up at his arrival. "We have tears of joy," Roberts shared. "Because Michael is back." Stephanopoulos nodded his head in agreement before Strahan chimed in, thanking his colleagues for the warm welcome. "It is great to be back with both of you. It is great to be back. Thank you guys."
