Michaela Coel Flexes In Her Flawless Complexion at the BAFTA TV Awards
If you’re still confused about the meaning of “melanin on fleek,” please direct your attention to this photo of Michaela Coel at the 2017 BAFTA TV Awards.
The brains and beauty behind the Netflix series Chewing Gum showed up on the red carpet sporting insanely glowy skin. Outfitted in a hot pink, purple, and tangerine printed mini dress designed by her mother and a face-flattering buzzcut, Coel‘s virtually flawless complexion really stood out.
No doubt the 29-year-old’s vegan diet contributes to her smooth and even skin tone. So it didn’t take much for makeup artist and Youtuber Aaliyah Tamara to accentuate Coel’s natural beauty. The actress looked like she was barely wearing any makeup, minus the black eyeliner and false eyelashes. “It was simply about enhancing that and creating a sun-kissed look,” Aaliyah Tamara told Yahoo Beauty.
Drawing inspiration from the highlighted makeup Keita Moore painted on model Chasity Samone, Aaliyah Tamara prepped with MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Natural Radiance in Radiant Yellow and Mineralize Timecheck Lotion to control oils and moisturize the skin at the same time.
Next, she mixed two of her all-time favorite foundations — MAC Face and Body Foundation and Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 — for a “melanin-infused glowy finish.”
Then the pro used bronze and brown shadows from The Morphe Brushes 350 Palette, as well as MAC loose pigments. She highlighted the cheeks with Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit- Ultimate Glow and set the under-eye concealer with Ben Nye Banana Powder. To finish and set Coel’s makeup for hours, Aaliyah Tamara used MAC Prep and Prime Fix+ and Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Sealer.
You glow, girl!
