The Michelin key for hotels is like the Michelin star for restaurants. The award essentially highlights the most outstanding hotels, according to the Michelin Guide.

Over the last four years, the Michelin Guide team went through and selected over 5,000 hotels from around the world that were remarkable enough to be included in their overall collection.

For 2024, the Michelin Guide hotel section includes 11 Three Key hotels, 33 Two Key hotels, and 80 One Key hotels. The Michelin Guide defines the awards as follows:

  • One Key: A very special stay

  • Two Key: An exceptional stay

  • Three Key: An extraordinary stay

The guide said the Three Key hotels are some of the “most outstanding experiences in the world.”
