Michelle Branch Is Expecting Her Second Child!
Baby number two is on the way for Michelle Branch! The singer just revealed that she’s expecting her second child — her first with her fiancé, The Black Keys’ drummer Patrick Carney.
Branch made the big announcement via Instagram, sharing a short video of the ultrasound, where we get a good look at the growing little one. “Well, we were just about to send out Save The Dates for our wedding in May when we got this little surprise,” she captioned the post. “Baby Carney is happening this summer and Patrick and I couldn’t be more excited! xx @officerpatrickcarney”
Carney also shared the exciting news on his own account, and both he and his bride-to-be received plenty of well wishes from fans, including one who asked, “Are y’all trying to genetically engineer a perfect musician baby?”
Branch — who’s already the mom of a 12-year-old daughter, Owen, whom she coparents with ex-husband Teddy Landau — first met Carney in 2015 at a Grammys party. He later produced her Hopeless Romantic album, and they fell in love. “This record wouldnt have seen the light of day had he not been involved,” she told Billboard. “[W]hen we were making it, it felt like it was us against the world.”
