Michelle Obama announces the title of her autobiography.

Clear some room on your bedside table and start archiving books on your Kindle: Former First Lady Michelle Obama has announced the title and release date of her widely anticipated memoir.

"Becoming" by Michelle Obama will be released on Tuesday, November 13 by Crown Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House.

"In this book, I talk about my roots and how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be," Mrs. Obama said in a press release. "Writing 'Becoming' has been a deeply personal experience. It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life."

In her MAKERS interview, the former first lady—who was the first African-American woman to hold the title—credits her parents for providing a foundation of love and support from the very beginning. "My dad worked as a pump operator at the city water plant. My mom stayed home so we didn't have a lot of money," Obama told MAKERS. "But my brother and I were blessed with something far more valuable. My parents truly gave us unconditional love and encouragement to go places they never imagined."

Obama has raised her voice to give young girls the same encouragement throughout her career. In a recent collaboration with MAKERS, Obama enlisted Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliot, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, and Zendaya to record the song "This is For My Girls," inspired by the Let Girls Learn initiative and the 62 million girls around the world who do not have access to education.

In support of the The Obama Foundation's mission to advocate for social responsibility, Penguin Random House will donate one million books in the Obama family's name to First Book, which promotes equal access to education by providing new books, learning materials, and other essentials to children in need in the U.S. and Canada.
