Michelle Obama Was All Zipped Up on ‘Jimmy Fallon’
Before officially exiting the White House, Michelle Obama showed one last time that she is the only first lady who has ever balanced style and sophistication so perfectly.
Obama took the stage on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night in a black skirt suit. However, unlike the traditional skirt suit that consists of a blazer and pencil skirt, FLOTUS gave hers an edgy twist with multiple zippers. The tight high-waisted skirt featured a ruffle at the bottom and a zipper going up the side. The collarless jacket featured an asymmetrical closure with not one, but two zippers. So we’re up to three now. And in case that wasn’t enough, the jacket featured a zipper pocket.
And the jacket and skirt were actually connected by — you guessed it — a zipper.
The outfit not only demonstrated her ability to look edgy yet polished, but the zippers, to us, also represented how she always holds it together and looks immaculately put together.
On her final late-night appearance, Obama surprised guests who thanked her for her eight years of service, was serenaded by Stevie Wonder, played games with Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld, and wrote thank-you cards with Fallon. The host thanked Obama for her style, and we have to do the same.
Thank you, FLOTUS, for representing the American woman so gracefully and stylishly.
